Niagra Falls

In the 80's my brother and sister in law Gerry and Heidi moved to Ontario with their girls so that Gerry could attend Bible College there.

After a few years of not seeing them. . .

we made the trek out.

It was the first large plane flight for either of us .. .and the trip across the prairies.. .

was white.

Though we went to see family, they graciously toured us around ..

Kitchener, Waterloo, Toronto. . .and of course you can't go to Ontario without visiting

Niagara Falls.

It still boggles my mind to think that these pictures were taken in March.

I suppose this is the Canada that people think of when we talk about a Canadian winter.

With bloggy friends across the land. . .

I pay close attention to the weather. . .

It's supposed to hit 12 Celsius or 53 F here today. . .how's it looking your way?

It's another grammie day. . . I'm hoping the jelly shoes I bought for the grandgirlie. . .fit HER. .

because when the lil' farm hand found them and tried to put them on yesterday. . . .

he had no luck. . .which. . really worked out for the best.

All for now. . .with love,

  1. I visited Niagara Falls in the fall. It was stunning.

We have -5 today, a storm coming in for tomorrow and rain on Friday.

Hope the jelly shoes fit the grandgirlie.

    Have fun today!

  2. I still have yet to visit Niagra -- someday! I often think of the weather where my blog friends live and yours always seems to be a bit more milder than ours. We're to have 47 F today with thunderstorms and tomorrow it will be back down to 29. No signs of spring whatsoever.

  3. I've never been to Niagara Falls, but Doc went as a child. We'd like to visit there someday.

It's supposed to be a warm 80 degrees Fahrenheit here today. I'm already running the a/c because all the apartment windows face south, and it heats up in here too well!

  5. Rain mixed with snow today, but tomorrow near blizzard conditions here in West Michigan. Spring comes here around mid May. But the garden catalogs say I can plant lettuce and kale 4 weeks before the last frost date....so the middle of April is what I'm looking forward to!

  6. OOps...I so can't spell these days...

We're expecting a foot of snow overnight so it looks as if it will be a clean-up day tomorrow. I'm going out with John on the plow again...I hope.

It's interesting to note that we've at least visited some of the same places. Beautiful pictures of Niagara Falls! Cute pic of you and Terry back in the day, too.

  10. Niagara Falls in winter is most beautiful. That might just be the perfect time to visit...no crowds to battle. I have been there once...it was August...and I was in good company (lots of it). It is an awesome sight...for sure!

    Have a wonderful grammie day!

  11. My experience at Niagara was a cold blustery day...But the company was superb. We met friends who used to pastor in the valley. Many good memories from our week in Toronto.
It's probably time to think about it again....
Are you hinting to us something???

  13. We got our customary 7:30 am snowfall, and it was a mild 40 degrees in the city when I got to work.

Isn't it just amazing that they can TURN THE NIAGRA FALLS OFF when ever they want to?

I was floored to learn that when we went on the Maid of the Mist cruise. Amazing.

  17. Well, here I sit, about a half hours drive away from "The Falls" as we call it in Niagara South. It is currently -7 degrees with a 70% chance of snow tomorrow. Not to worry though, it was still light out when I drove home from work at 5:45 p.m. Spring won't be long in coming...
